There is a song by Billy Joel that said "only the good die young." Andy was good, and Andy was young.

The sun rose one morning some 20 years ago and brightened all. That sunset is right now and that 'day' which lasted for 20 years we all came to know as Andy. For him, it was not the longest day.

Andy became a part of the Angels' family in 1999 and has added his unique style to his percussion. Andy behind the drum-pads, at rehearsals or on the stage, performed as only Andy could. He was quick on the fly and would improvise rolls on the MPC and the Akai that was vintage Andy. Music transformed him from a nonchalant youth with uncharted energy to a focused musician with gusto and drive.

His short life was filled with passion and at a very tender age he joined Naya Andaz, the first band he performed with. It was indeed a new chapter in his life. He went on to perform with various bands, spreading his sunshine throughout the musical world - from the Caribbean to North America from Manhattan to Miami, from Lincoln Center to The Gujurati Center. He was ardent at his music, some even called it his first love. Andy had another love, he loved his cars. He even had a picture of his car in his cell phone that he showed to everyone and spoke of it as his baby.

We will take what we saw in Andy, what we knew of Andy, and we will remember him for the rest of our lives for his gentle speech, his shyness and his quiet demeanor.

That sunrise that began in Williamsville, San Fernando in Trinidad, has now come to its due sunset. What was once brilliant sunshine has now dwindled to a flickering light, but high up in the sky when we see the twinkle of a star we will know it is Andy, when we hear the distant rumble of thunder we will know its his drum roll and when we see the crack of lightning we will know its his boyish smile.

Andy you will live on in our memories for you are now truly "An Angel."
